WITH THE LATEST FIBER LASER SYSTEM
Taking advantage of the latest improvement
in laser technology will provide increased capability,
reliability, and lowered operational costs. A large power
supply, water flow cooling, Q switch and driver, and mechanical
shutter are no longer used. The smaller spot size of the beam
means better definition of the mark as well as a deeper mark or
difficult materials.
Power consumption and continual
maintenance are drastically reduced, while the nominal 100,000
hour life of the laser generation unit assures a minimum of
operational shutdowns. A main feature is that the new system now
operates from a single 117 VAC outlet rather than a three phase
source.
The actual upgrade would comprise the
removal or disconnection of the old power supply, the YAG head,
and all water related items such as pump, reservoir, old
telescope. the mirror assemblies, and the shutter. The old
three-phase source wiring and circuit breakers are no longer
used and may be disconnected or removed. The existing boards may
be used for malfunction monitoring.
The existing computer operating system may
be used or upgraded to PROLASE. The latest version of this
provides many advantages, especially over other laser control
systems The new telescope (laser output) will be mounted at the
galvanometer input with an adapter specific to the old system.
The system is now ready for use. Retuning is no longer required
as it is integral with the fiber system.
